Garlick Helicopter has received FAA approval for their lift beam modification on UH-1 series helicopters. This installation creates a direct load path between the cargo hook and the transmission lift link, thereby substantially reducing the stress on the airframe during external load operations.

This modification utilizes a 205 style lift link with the original transmission and can accommodate a 212 style support case and lift link. The use of the 212 transmission or support case is approved on several aircraft models under Garlick Helicopter Corporation "TYPE CERTIFICATES".
